About Rich

Rich Ingleby is a nineteen-year active duty Army artillery officer, primarily having served in high-tempo and expeditionary Airborne assignments. A veteran of three combat tours in Afghanistan, his service brings a unique perspective into military life; everything from its tactics and technical matters, to the jarring experience of being under enemy fire. This includes a deep understanding of living with those memories forever after.

Passionate about military history, Rich’s career has given him multiple opportunities to engage in unit history, writing several successful posthumous Second World War award nominations and unit histories. A systematic and thorough researcher and writer, he has published four articles in various professional journals, each on topics connecting lessons from military history with challenges faced on modern battlefields. Rich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Master’s Degree in Military History; the latter with thesis work centered on amphibious warfare in the Pacific.
